This was one of my first wedding fayres when I started out as a celebrant. I had recently taken early retirement from my job and thought I would become a celebrant, part-time, maybe 10 weddings a year, that would be nice 😀 In my first 4 months, I attended about 7 fayres and bagged around 40 bookings over the next 2 years, mind blown, and over the following 3 months I had bookings of 64 year 2 and 78 for year 3 I honestly had no idea what was going on it was insane. All of a sudden, I was legit a full-on celebrant!!! Geez, there was so much learning to do, and I didn't have a mentor or person at that time who could show me the ropes. It was terrifying and exhilarating and so exciting. Then....it happened...Covid, all bets were off. Rescheduling was the norm for all suppliers. It was tough but with extreme highs when I was able to make it work with my rescheduled couples, but gutted for every single couple I lost due to date clashes 😭 And then the manic madness of 2021 and 2022, literally doing double the weddings I had anticipated due to the rescheduling. And here I am in 2025, finally getting a balance in my life between weddings and personal life. What a ride it's been, the people I've met the places I've been, the laughs, I still get a buzz from knowing my name is on so many couples' marriage certificate!! Lewis and Liana, what can I say? What a wedding vibe you had!!! From first contact, you have made me smile. Even through the chaos and 5 million voice notes, it has been a blast. Liana, you are the epitome of the mad but fantastic bride, and Lewis, what a gentleman ♥️ These guys had their incredible day @kinkell_byre. The sun was shining, and the decor was second to none all done by our bride Liana @willowandwisteriaflowers. Liana was utterly stunning with that huge smile on her face throughout. I can't tell you how handsome Lewis was in his military uniform. They did a first touch, and I won't lie. I had the old goosebumps everywhere. They had a fantastic story to tell full of adventure, dogs, awkward moments, bleeding feet, and a dozen vodka and Red Bulls in 10 minutes for Dutch courage. It was so much fun to write and even more fun to deliver ♥️ And the vows they had written for each other were absolutely incredible. Lewis and Liana, I can only imagine what chaos will ensue in your married life, but I do know the love you have for each other will see you through everything. Calling all designated dress Floofers, you need to do your job !!!! 100's or 1000's spent on your persons dress only to be left tucked under and tangled when they present themselves in all their glory to their guests for the very first time. Nooooo, if you have been given the job of floofing the dress, then floof you must (I know overuse of the word floof🤔) If you have been designated to floof, floof when your bride arrives at the top of the aisle, refloof if they move position for rituals or signing the register and refloof as they position themselves to go back down the aisle. I will do it, if I can, your photographer will do it if it is possible, even your videographer will pitch in if possible. But we all have designated jobs out with floofing, and it can make everything look a bit clumsy. A good coordinator will sort you out prior to coming down the aisle, but it's made much simpler if your designated floofer remembers to do their job. Failing that hire an on the day dresser, these people are worth their weight in gold and in the bigger picture a very small investment in terms of your overall spend. They not only sort the Brides dress, they sort everyone else's too, they really look after you and ensure you are pristine at all times. Going, going, gone ..... This photo from Jemma and John's wedding a while back shows that we can all get caught out one time or another!! Well, I'm pretty sure most of you know by now my pet hate is myself (or any Celebrant) being slap bang in the middle of the couple at those key moments, the vows, the rings, rituals (tying the knot🙈) and the Cardinal Sin, The Kiss !! 💋 Noooooooooo get out the friggin' way, couples don't want my face in every bloody photo they get taken and certainly not at these most special moments!!!!! This is not a photo opportunity for the Celebrant. This is the couples moment, fact. A shot from Richard and Emma's top secret wedding. Part way through their annual trip with friends, Emma and Richard, through lies and deceipt got their friends down to the beach, which is set up for yep, their wedding. Well, would you? Hannah, following the sad passing of her Dad, chose to walk down to her beloved Bill on her own. Simply, there was no one who could fill his boots. Hannah carried a lit candle in a lantern and placed it on the first seat in the front row. No words were needed, the gesture was clear. I found this such a beautiful thing to do. But, it's no small thing walking down the aisle yourself. Usually, you have someone's arm to hang on to and steady the nerves. On other occasions I have seen this, its not always been in the absence of having that special person there to walk down with the person, it's been the idea of bringing yourself into your married life. Personally, I really like the idea of it, there's something epic about doing that on your own. What a beautiful day ❤️ Grant and Jordan wed a couple of weeks ago at the @bowfieldhotel (where I must add the staff were brilliant as always) First stop to see Jordan and her girls, what a fantastic bunch they were, every single one of them reflecting what a lovely person Jordan is ❤️ Baby Joey kissed me 3 times, my day, no week, no year was made. What a wee cracker he is. We have to chat about Jordans dress, timeless, elegant, and she wore it magnificently. Next up, Grant handsome, totally and nervous, oh yes he was! Don't do it !!! These vases generally get trashed before the ceremony even starts, with folks kicking them over. If they don't get hit then, they'll be dragged up the aisle in the brides dress, and if they survive that sure as hell, if they're live candles, someone's clothes will go up!! To all couples who fire over changes to your script the day before your wedding........DON'T! Your script is printed, and it's good to go at least 2 weeks before your ceremony, I need the peace of mind that all is in order, I need to rehearse. Your script is written, ensuring all parts segway perfectly and easily flows from one part to the next. Last-minute changes can potentially change this flow and, as a result, the enjoyment and professionalism of your ceremony. It may seem like a small addition to you, but could mean a rewrite for me. 🙏🙏 Thank you

WTF is a Celebrant anyway? (Not to be confused with a Celibate that doesn't apply here 😃) We hear Humanist Celebrant, Interfaith Celebrant, Independent Celebrant etc etc. In actual fact, below is what a Celebrant is regardless of the prefix The prefix, for example Humanist, merely explains what type of ceremony they will provide, religeous, non religeous, spiritual, and so on. The Celebrant bit is a description of the role we play Celebrant comes from the Latin word celebrare, meaning "assemble to honour." And that’s exactly what Celebrants do. We are one of the conduits through which people honour and celebrate all of life’s big events, weddings, Last Farewells, and Baby Namings, to name a few. Of course, people have been celebrating these things for millennia without needing or wanting a third party to facilitate the event for them, but in modern times having a person who is trained to conduct the proceedings professionally has become ‘a thing’ so Celebrants have grown exponentially in popularity. As a 'Celebrant', my thang is weddings, any weddings, just weddings, let’s face it…… Best day of a couple’s life Everyone’s happy or drunk or both. Is there such a thing? Having spent the last 5 weeks 24/7 with Ian I thought it was a good time to post this. We see many posts talking about social media platforms and that we only see the best bits of people's lives. And whilst we logically know it is an often false reading of a person's life, we forget, and we believe, and we compare. One part in particular we buy into is the 'perfect love' On occasions, one or other of a couple will say to me, "Does it look like we love each other ....enough," and this saddens me. Social media can set a bar as to how we should love, and if we don't love this way, is it even a proper love? There is no such thing. After conducting hundreds of weddings, I can say this with confidence. There's quiet love, loud love, private and public love, and romantic and unromantic love. One thing is for sure, no two people's love is the same. I post photos like this where Ian and I have had a row (yes, it was a cracker!), and folks really relate, but what we have is 'our' love. First job of the day. Are you doing ok? Before I even put my bag down, I head straight for my couple to check that their day is going down EXACTLY as they imagined it would. Sometimes nerves are at fever pitch. There may have been the odd hiccup. Mostly, everyone is in the groove and supping the odd glass of fizz, perfect. As the supplier who starts the formal proceedings of your day, I want to let you know I'm there, sooth any nerves and talk you through, again, how it's all going to pan out. For me, this hour before the ceremony is as important as your ceremony, you've made it, everyone's here, our months sometimes years of chats have all led to this moment. And now we're here, and this thing is going to happen. I love arriving and seeing your wee faces as you prep to walk into the biggest commitment of your lives, and then in this hour before, we will high five, hug and say lets do this, us all confident that you're walking into the very best start to your day. So, you've changed your mind.... This post is about something we rarely speak of and Ian my husband felt it was a bit controversial to post, but this is part of weddings whether we care to post about it or not It comes to your big day and you realise, OR, finally acknowledge, this is a mistake. Weddings and all the associated planning, buzz and expectation can remove your focus from the things that really matter, like: Do I really want to pledge the rest of my life to this person? Am I trying to fix something that is wrong rather than celebrate our love, which is true? Are you thinking, there's no way I can call this off now, so much money, everyone's invited, I can't pull out now. Well, the answer is YES, you can. We have to start with the enormity and scale of commitment you are about to sign up to, marriage isn't a commodity to be dispensed with when we don't want it anymore. However, unfortunately I know of couples who 'went ahead' due to the pressure of letting people down, knowing in their hearts it was the wrong thing to do. A wedding doesn't fix a thoroughly broken relationship. It puts a plaster on it, for a very, very short time. My advice: be truthful about how you feel if there is a nagging in the back of your head, stop, take breath and listen to it, these doubts are there for a reason. Communicate, talk to each other, maybe you both feel the same way but have never actually said it. Do not let the wedding band wagon sweep you into a huge mistake, one you may regret for the rest of your lives. What's a few thousand pounds compared to your lifelong happiness. People will understand, maybe some of them wish they had done it. Am I qualified to talk of this, I think so. In 1988, I called of my wedding of 250 guests, thousands of pounds worth of gifts and more suppliers than I can remember, 12 days, yes 12 days before my wedding. I loved my then partner but knew it wasn't the right kind of love, one of the bravest and honest things I've ever done, as it transpires, for both of us. So think hard, think long and talk, one day should not dictate the rest of your life. I believe as celebrants, we should discuss all facets.

First week !!

I'm actually nervous about posting this. I have a dilemma and would very much appreciate my couples and followers, including suppliers, feedback. As many of you know, I have been working towards a better work-life balance and, as such, have chosen to take significantly fewer weddings from this year forward (I was doing big numbers!) Although I'm still taking bookings of course, I adore my weddings. As a pretty consistent 'poster', this, in turn, leaves me without a constant stream of 'wedding' content to post and / or add ons with snippets that others already cover. I am aware my page has moved towards a wider mix of tips, opinions, weddings, and increased snapshots of my life. I'm also aware that apart from weddings and a small amount of personal stuff, this may not be of interest to y'all (particularly snapshots of my life and opinions 🙈😂) I am obviously still fully involved as Chair of Fulcrum Celebrants and the requirements of this role, but...... The question is, moving forward: A) Do I stick to purely wedding content and post much less? B) Continue posting at fairly regular intervals but cover wider topics in the celebrant/ wedding industry? C) Stop worrying and post a little bit of everything, even if it is less, but cut back on the personal stuff? D) Keep doing what I'm doing? E) Piss off you couldn't care less😂 (if it's this one, please DM me don't put in comments 🤣🤣) I'm in the very fortunate position of not relying quite as heavily on social media for bookings as perhaps others due to so many recommendations from fellow suppliers and so many previous couples. (Thank you all ❤️) Therefore, I'm happy to be fully guided by you. What I don't want is to be cluttering up folks' grid with drivvle as well as wasting my time creating content of no interest. Top Secret Mission Ooft, this was an amazing elopement. When I say no one but myself and the incredible @nataliaswiaderphotography knew these beautiful souls, Regan and Preah were getting hitched, I mean, no one else knew! Under the guise of a multi city, European Tour Regan and Preah left their folks back home in Tasmania, wishing them well for their adventure. And whilst they did do their tour, they had one special stop midway through to get married!!! They rocked up at the Royal College of Physicians in Edinburgh for the most perfect intimate ceremony, filled with warm smiles, chuckles, and lingering gazes into each other's eyes as we took a trip back through their journey together. I really don't have to tell you how stunning a couple Preah and Regan are, @nataliaswiaderphotography incredible photographs of them speak for themselves, but they are also the nicest people. On completion of their tour they arrived home on Christmas Eve and on Christmas day they showed their loved ones a slide show of their adventure, and yes, their wedding day was right there plum in the middle. Suffice to say the love and amazement they were met with was beyond their dreams. Hello! Dipping back into socials with an uncurated photo, because quite simply I have no end of year 'wrap' video, or party shot, etc, to post. But, what I do have is a heartfelt wish that all of you who know me and beyond have the best 2025 possible. For many of you that I know have had a shit year, I hope it's less shit next year, for those who have fractures in your family that this heals as you go forward. For those of you who have struggled this year with your mental health or felt dragged down by events in our world, in the main beyond our control, I hope 2025 brings some relief. A New Year gives a sense of optimism and the opportunity of a 'fresh start', which in itself is wonderful. For me, it's about recognising that a new year doesn't solve my problems, but it does hopefully give me another year to resolve them, to learn when change in myself is needed for me to get to where I want to be, although sometimes I'm not sure where that is🤔 All I do know is that I will spend the next year endeavouring to remember to be thankful for what I have, strive to achieve the things I want to achieve, and really celebrate the small wins, but most of all constantly remind myself that I walk this way but once, and to damn well make sure I stop and smell the flowers along the way 🌸 I hope you all have wonderful moments 'stopping and smelling the flowers' in the coming year. What a day, and again, what a day!! Matthew and Hannah were married @brigodoonhouse1827 on the 1st of December and start to finish. we laughed. Now, there were emotional moments in there, because there is so much love between Matthew and Hannah, however.... we had to wrestle the handties out of Matthews hand, and when we did 'go into the tying' he near pulled Hannah off her feet 😳 A wee hiccup with their vows when, well, they just decided not to say I do!!! I could go on... But I can't tell you how much fun we had, it's the first time as a celebrant I was thinking, oh, ok, what's coming next 🤣 I had no clue, I'd lost the plot pretty much at the start 😲 That said, these two are just awesome. Hannah, who was looking so spectacular, had that beautiful smile of hers out all day, and believe me, Matthew is absolutely the guy you want your daughter to marry (albeit he is known as Mr Bean, which I would now also refer to him as 😄) This was always going to be a belter of a wedding. Mr and Mrs Begley, you nailed it. It was a joy getting to know you both and to have the honour of being your Celebrant. This is a question I am asked often, so I thought I would have a stab at answering it. The answer is yes, I do say 'No' to couples, on occasion. We all read (or write)  posts about how to choose your Celebrant and to be very sure you have the right 'vibe', and that is terribly important. However, it works both ways. On the occasions I have declined to conduct a couples ceremony, it's for a number of reasons: ◇ I really don't feel we are on the same wavelength, and I'm unconvinced I can represent you the way you would like to be represented. ◇ Our values about marriage differ greatly (marriage isn't the side show at your wedding, it is the wedding). ◇ I don't quite see myself conducting the type or tone of ceremony they are looking for. For me to remain true to my own values and standards, all of the above must fall into place as a minimum requirement of solemnising a couple's marriage. Social media may have you believe that marriages or ceremonies are just about getting the funniest, quirkiest, or most popular celebrant to conduct your ceremony. But it is a great responsibility and honour to be given authorisation to legally marry people as a celebrant, and as such, I believe at all times we must uphold the very essence of what marriage is. So, I will say no if I feel any elements of my role or myself may be compromised. Let me set the scene: You're running a small business in one of the hardest times for any business since the 2007 financial crash. You're working your ass off, doing your utmost to engage with customers past, present, and future to provide a first class service, despite juggling crippling long hours, families, and life. You receive an enquiry, great you think, you reply promptly, provide as much information as you can to give your potential client exactly what they need to know if you are what they think they're looking for......and then you wait. You, the client, don't come back or reply. Are you busy? has life taken over, your suppliers out of courtesy keeps your date and gives you a reasonable length of time to respond. This is actually the best case scenario because, after a few days, your supplier will probably make the date available again. And then there is the scenario when you have actually met online or in person, your supplier has given their all at the meeting, they've prepped, possibly travelled, and spent at least an hour with you, and you don't come back and let them know that you have opted for someone else, you have ghosted them. The upshot of this is often a financial impact on a small business and nearly always puts a big dent in your suppliers' confidence. So here's the thing... Mr and Mrs McMillan This is one of those ones where you're not sure how to cover this day in a wee caption! Ewan and Lauren are adventurers. They squeeze every single drop out of every single day. Their zest for life is inspiring, as is their ability to draw people to them. You just get sucked in by their warmth and humour. And all of this was so very obvious on their wedding day. The people they have round them in the family and out simply adore them. Their vision, for their day, was to have those they loved in the one place to witness their union as husband and wife, and then one hell of a party to celebrate, a big tick for all of that. We were in @stconanskirk, epic, Lauren, and her maids took a walk around the Kirks arches before arriving down the aisle, again epic. Ewan, well, him and his men were cutting a dash up beside me (I get the best jobs 😄) Their story was fantastic, they have done so much in their 7 years together and with everyone being so invested, we had such a joyfull, emotional ceremony, Handfasting, and Quaich, their chosen ancient rituals. Their good friend Hazel read the most beautiful words she had written for Ewan and Lauren, tears were shed... This was a day of love with a big L, the most special of days. ♡Graeme and Amy♡ 13 years of loving each other brought them to their most special day yesterday. Firstly, I fell a wee bit in love with Graeme myself when Amy arrived at his side at the top of the aisle, and all I could hear him saying was 'you are so gorgeous' 'are you ok?' 'Are you happy' my wee heart, Amy was all 3 BTW, and excited and glowing, the works 💜 The best man near got escorted off the premises right enough, he was erm, loud 🔇🤣 but eesh Amy's maids were outstanding in every way 👏 They had a fantastic story, we nailed the Handfasting, and First Kiss for our mums. BUT, the day kicked off in proper style when they exchanged football pennants, they are red hot Hibs and Hearts fans, and I won't lie it can cause tension in their house in Derby Day, so we attached some rules to the exchange so they couldn't slag off each other's teams for the entire day (never gonna happen to🤔) I even got to see Michael and Louise a couple I married last year!!) This is to anyone who is considering a career as a celebrant or to pass to someone you know who is considering it. Due to the level of messages I receive asking for advice on becoming a celebrant, I thought it would be useful to do a series of videos that give a bit more information for you to consider before launching into the job of celebrant. I find people tend to look more at the job than their skill set to do the job, and that is in no way meant to be insulting. Couple this with the often very confusing process to becoming a celebrant, particularly around being able to legally marry people in Scotland. I felt I could maybe contribute to making this easier by highlighting a bit more about the ACTUAL job. Being a celebrant is probably the most rewarding job in the world, the people you meet, the places you see and things you do, but it's not for the fainthearted. These videos are a broad brush of areas to think about before spending money or time and to set out some, perhaps not immediately, obvious functions required to become a successful celebrant. It is not a blow by blow account of how to become a celebrant. 🌟Tomorrow, I will cover training, the responsibility that comes with being a celebrant and the type of celebrant you may want to be, and the completion in this industry. It is so so lovely when couples ask me to stay for the meal and reception, but, in almost all circumstances, it's a very polite no from me. I never intend to be rude, but this is a family day, and every single space you have and are paying big bucks for is precious and should absolutely be given to your nearest and dearest. This is Matthew and Hannah, my utterly gorgeous couple, getting married on the 1st of December, and last night, we had our script meeting. This is the meeting to beat all meetings, for all couples, I hope! This is the meeting when the buzz the hype the nerves and excitement for your ceremony kick in 🤪 We've been in constant touch for sometimes up to 2 years had our Zoomies, but this is it... We cover EVERYTHING, your ceremony content, all the logistics of your ceremony, coming down the aisle, going out aw married, songs, rituals, adding the special touches, chatting about how to combat the nerves the inevitable tears, there is NOTHING, we don't cover 😍 And I think at this meeting, your script meeting, this is when it all seems so real and exciting and emotional for me included!!! I LOVE these meetings. My mission every time is to make it as amazing as it should be so that when I leave you, you are Buzzing 🐝🐝 and can not wait for your ceremony, after all it is the first and most important part of your day. As many of you will know as I approach my 60th birthday, I'm striving for a much better work life balance, I have cut my weddings by almost two thirds, which I won't lie took a massive leap for me to do. It has been and still is a huge readjustment, I have worked since I was 14 and full time since I was 16!! I get brutal FOMO, worry that I'm not doing enough, and feelings of not being relevant any longer if I ever was. Coupled, of course, with the acceptance time passes by so quickly. However, I have rediscovered my love of the things I used to have time to do and went to the kerb, enjoying having time to spend with friends and family, whom I have oftentimes neglected. I'm able to schedule work along with my life now, a thing I have always been rubbish at! (maybe y'all are better at that than me) So I think I'm getting there, and I still get to do the job I adore and do believe I'm good at, so I think what I'm saying is regardless of your age, step back look at where you're at. Do you like what you're seeing? If not, if it's in your power and circumstances to change it, change it, even if it's the tiniest bit toward where you want to be. The Stewarts Big Day Jason and Helen were married at @boclairhousehotel last week, and it was just one surprise after the other, for their guests and Jason and their daughter Maxine and their mums, geez it was amazing. We had.... A sneaky wee excerpt of the Star Wars theme sneaked into Helens' entrance music for Jason (a Star Wars fiend!) Maxine, their daughter being presented with a brand new birth certificate with her new name on it 📜 Maxine making a wish on their wedding bands 💍 Their gorgeous mums being invited up for First Kiss. And the biggest surprise for them all was their handsome baby boy sleeping right the way through the ceremony (it's ok, I'm not offended, Luke ❤️) A fantastic day was had by all. Honestly, the older I get, the more and more grateful I become for all I have. In your teens, like most of us, I probably thought I was entitled. In my twenties, I was too busy partying and making a name for myself in my job to really consider how fortunate I was. In my thirties, I suppose life really kicked in with all its inevitable ups and downs, losing my parents, real disappointments, things maybe not working out the way you thought they would, so the awareness of what I did have, became more tangible. In my forties, I am kinda coming into my own, very successful, good income, great life, good health, but losing friends and family and acutely aware of hardships others are going through, my gratitude has ramped up hugely. In my fifties, I can't believe I'm this age and that I have lived through nearly six decades, yes with crushing life events along the way, but my God am I grateful to wake up every morning, (albeit getting out of beds a bit trickier 🤣) I embrace the day, every day, because every single one is precious. I consider myself blessed to have what and who I have in my life and voice it to the heavens regularly every day just by saying a simple Thank you. They say if you knew then, what you know now you would do things differently, and in some things maybe, but I think it takes the journey you're on and the exact experiences you have to get you to where you really understand the value of this wonderful life we've been given. ⚡️Matt and Steph⚡️ Stephs opening message to Matt on their app of choice Bumble was a belter... 'Hello, how has your day been?' yip, that's it. Well, they had to start somewhere, right? After chatting for a good while online about everything from what the different stages of drunkeness were to mental health 🤔a date was arranged, that Matt got on Groupon so he hadn't spent too much if the date was a duffer !!! It wasn't obvs, it was that good that Matt said seeing Steph in her cute black leather jacket very nearly distracted him from the Arsenal game that was in the screen where they met, yes a true romantic.... Very Quick Update 🇫🇷🇫🇷 We have been back in France for 2 days now, mainly because we're now fugitives in Spain, I'll fill you in on our next video, lots to tell. We did break a new record on arrival in Vichy, though. All our 'stuff' wouldn't fit in our Petit Chambre (wee bedroom) at our hotel. On arrival with our 'Stuff', the receptionist was heard to mutter 'ooh la la tant de bagages pour si peu de temps' (so many bags for so little time) we literally couldn't get in the door, I think it may have been the straw that broke Ian's back 🤣🤣 (video evidence provided) We then went out only to get lost and be probably the only two tourists (and dug in a pram) that found themselves in theeee worst area of Vichy. It was bandit country!!! Today has been good, a beautiful walk round the non-threatening parts of Vichy, lunch on the River Loire, sitting with our feet in the fountain outside our hotel, bliss. We're off to Orlèans tomorrow, so I can soak up all things Joan of Arc. Now there's a lady I'd like to have had dinner with 😉 Bonne Nuit ❤️❤️ Sorry the sizing on this video is shit 💁‍♀️

What a 2 days this has been 🙈🙈 sore feet and yet to see Reims 🤣

Well , we have finally set off, at the grand old age of 60 (nearly) and 65, we are going on our first road trip. The longest time we have ever had off work and the longest time we'll have spent cooped up in a car together!! We're touring France and Spain, and we are excited. Although any of our friends who have shared a holiday with us knows we are prone to finding ourselves in some tricky situations, add in Manuel (the dug) a car packed to the gunnels and our frequent debates (AKA arguements) its gonna be fun 😁 Two of these friends are even house sitting for us in Glasgow, all the way up from Devon (we lied about the usual weather in Glasgow😝) Packing took me a month. I get it from my mum. Every holiday we went on as children, she literally took the kitchen basin with her, I mean, who knows when you'll need bleach, a spanner, a clothes horse, and a folding table!! (No, I'm not kidding) As I write this, we've already had our first spat. Apparently, it is forbidden to need a pee only 45 minutes after leaving the house, and if I carry on needing a pee every 45 minutes, we'll arrive in Folkestone sometime on Wednesday, says Ian who knows everything...... here we friggin go 🙈🙈 Anyway, I'm hoping to post updates of our travels. If you can't bear it, just pop me on mute for 30 days 🤣🤣

These two... 😍 Stuart and Jordyn, how can I explain to you the happiness that exudes from them both, couple that with Jordyn's absolutely raucous and infectious laugh, and you're hooked from the minute you meet them⭐️ They thrive on teasing and taking the piss out of each other and often times me too!! Being a wedding coordinator herself, Jordyn knew every trick in the book to ensure her special people had the best day ever, oh, and they did in spades. Their journey included frosted bathroom doors on their second date (we know that is NOT good🙈) Frequent mention of their pal David who was the third wheel on all their dates🤣 and a visit to the famous Louvre art gallery for the sole purpose of doing a pee !!! Oh, and for Jordyn to get a quick selfie with the nude male statues 🙄 The proposal called 'Operation Pear' was implemented to SAS standards and Jordyn did not have a clue, it was a very icy night in January and after wise words from her mother of 'watch your feet out there' Jordyn fell, then slid all the way over to what must be the most patient man in the world her fabulous fiancé Stuart for him to pop the question. I think you've got the drift about these guys, Stuart and Jordyn. Rock on The Raltons Well, to say Ewan and Nicole were excited for their big day would be the understatement of the century, even at our pre ceremony meeting, Nicole was literally vibrating with excitement in the seat next to me!! Everyone and I mean everyone was buzzing when I arrived, Ewan was fidgeting like a fiend, and quite frankly talking in riddles 🤣 Nicole was stunning and unbelievably quite calm!! Well, that was until the ceremony started, I had asked Ewan if he was a crier 'no, I think I'll be ok' he says, wrong, I thought I would have to get a stretcher for him when Nicole, his love, appeared at the end of the aisle he was in bits 😭 and that was it, if they both weren't crying they were laughing in equal measure 😆😭 They wrote their own vows, and they were epic, and we had First Kiss not only with their mums but their Grandma's too, utter tear fest. It really does take me hours!! Every single ceremony is crafted with your personal story at the core. After all, without that story, you wouldn't be standing in front of me to get married. Believe it or not, it does take a considerable amount of skill to create a cohesive, flowing, entertaining ceremony and hours of tweaking, so it's got just the right amount of humour and emotion but most importantly that your ceremony reads as your unique ceremony and not just a bunch of words cut and paste from the information you give. Couple with this, years of honing my delivery style to ensure each and every ceremony is 100% on the money (s'cuse the pun) Next up, meetings, admin, travel, social media, the list goes on.... So, what it really comes down to is the standard of experience and service you're prepared to pay for ❤️

I just LOVE this photo, it kinda sums up my journey with Stuart (AKA Stuggy) and Laura ❤️ I got to share a bit more time with them because there was a venue and date change moving their wedding back a year, a win for me.🎖 Laura used to be known as the Queen of Sesh (liked a good swally), 🥂 and by all accounts, our Stuart was quite the lad, but their paths crossed and everything changed, they nurtured each other through to being proper adults, into parenthood to confirming every choice they had made was the right one by getting married. Their day was exceptional, well, their wedding weekend as it spread over a few days. They asked me to read a poem called Dear Husband. Go look it up. Some may say its quite sad, but the jist is the endurance, and love couples have before, while raising their kids and beyond, it is beautiful. Laura's mum also read a poem, and we said our vows on the oathing stone. The vibe throughout was joy!! Thier beautiful children Lewis and Gracie were the best behaved children in the world ❤️ Now, to put a myth to rest, I did not overinvest in Laura and Stuart because they own a bakery and plied me with cakes ........🎂🍰🧁 Their day was all a wedding day should be, love, love, and more love. Oh, and I loved being part of their lives for a while and their most special day. Meet 'The Thomsons' I could wax lyrical about John and Jen for a very long time. The potted version is that they are funny, kind, thoughtful, and quite clear for everyone to see a perfect match ❤️ Apart from John supports Hibs and Jen supports Motherwell! They have known each other all their lives from nursery to well, wedding!! Yes, it was many years before they connected as a couple, but clearly, that happened at exactly the right time. The thing I love about these guys is the mutual understanding of what they want their marriage to be, and what they want to be as people within their marriage, to each other and the others in their life.❤️ I loved telling their story, and the people they had around them were a true reflection of them as people and boy, were they invested in Jen and John's wedding day!!! Our mums presented their Handties (Hibs and Motherwell tartan, of course), and they drank from the Quaich to join their clans. Now I don't like to throw a bad light on anyone ....BUT, it was the first time ever I've had to refill the Quaich after the bride took her 'sip' Jen, you did well for someone who doesn't really drink !!!! It was a glorious, love filled day and an honour to be a small part of. This is Jamie and Louise, when we first met in Starbucks and Jamie’s opening line was 'will this take long Niki, the footballs on at 5' I knew we were in for a great journey, I just didn't realise how great it would be 😊 From the get-go, it has been laugh after laugh, you see, they are both folk who squeeze the best out of every day, are grateful for everything and sure know how to have a good time. So, it was always going to be a belter of a ceremony ❤️ Louise was stunning and so excited to marry Jamie and, of course, become step mum extraordinaire to wee Jamie (who is the loveliest young man) The thing that struck me about all the information I got from Jamie and Louise, was that their families were everything, they couldn't talk enough about them and the love the had for them, Louise often referring to wee Jamie as a gift, everything was all about love. However, there was a fair amount from Jamie I couldn't repeat 🤣 even though I wanted to. The ceremony was genuinely one laugh after the other, and the smiles never left their two faces. It was awesome. We were beautifully accompanied on the harp by @@tsvetelinaharpist. I'm so delighted to have met Lou and Jamie, my worlds a wee bit better for it. Meet☆the☆Marrs There could have been no other venue than @glasgowengineworks for this cool, quirky couple. Their decor by @makebelieveevents was stunning, a great support act to Lauren herself who was so elegant and demure in her '2 dress' ensemble from @@bijoux_bridal, you know the skirt over the dress, I love these ❤️ and I have to say Cammy was looking as sharp as paint too 🫶 Cammy and Lauren started chatting when Lauren offered him a bit of chewing gum from her bra, I mean, is there any other way?? The first date was bowling, where in order to ensure his reputation remained intact, Cammy googled 'how to win at bowling' I know, you're all waiting, aren't you....Lauren thrashed him 🤣 Their proposal story was fantastic, Cammy had a Plan, A, B, and C, although I think they eventually nailed it around Plan K 😀 but, it really was perfect. The Marrs are well matched of that there is no doubt, even just sitting with them chatting, you can feel the love and respect they have for each other. It was an honour to conduct their ceremony and get to know them over this last while, an all-around fab couple. The Chalmers absolutely rocking Loch Tay  When I arrived at @borlandlochtay I headed directly to the 'getting ready room', and well, it was madness, the buzz in the room with maids, mums, kids, and our gorgeus bride Shevon was electric. You know that giddy buzz you get 😊 Their beautiful daughter Hollie was making valiant attempts to get Shevon to take her little princess dress off. Meanwhile, we have a champagne shake and spray shot outside where Shevon nearly took @kayleighscottphotography eye out. Then off to see my handsome Groom, doing well, a few beers, but the nerves were kicking in. Did I forget to mention that Benji the dog was there? So the ceremony starts with Shevons voice coming over the speakers with a message for Craig. He, I'm sure, hid his face behind wee Hollie, who was holding at the time to hide the tears. Then I don't really know what happened, Benji was getting passed from one side to the other, Hollie decided to become quite vocal, well it is overwhelming for a wee one, so it was agreed someone would take her out to play, then Benji started kicking off and I asked if they wanted him taken out, to which Craig says 'oh no, that's my boy'!! 🤣 I think the Handfasting went ok?? We had to repeat quite a lot over the laughter and audience participation, but all the while, the joy and the love and the laughter in that room was overwhelming. And of course, we had those magical golden moments of pure emotion between Craig and Shevon. It was just wonderful, and exactly what they both wanted: a fun filled ceremony with all those they hold dear. It took a while for me to recover, but I feel better now 🤣 Thank you, thank you, thank you, Craig and Shevon, and to your families, it was a brilliant day. K'mon the Kimmets 🫶 Fate, coincidence, and laughs brought us together, Ally and Holly may seem quite normal looking people, however ........ I MUST tell you a bit from their story. It's the first date bit 🙈 '' the prostitute approached the car and opened the door to get in, thinking Ally had swung the car round because he was looking for 'business' however on seeing the utter shock on Holly's face who was in the passenger seat, quickly scarpered'' can you imagine on your first date!!! Ally also used the excuse of having to get a special cat litter, which was only sold in the Tesco next to where Holly lived, so he had an excuse to pop by and see her, best bit is he did actually buy cat litter every time, he had about 11 bags in his boot before he realised he didn't actually have to buy the cat litter 🤣 I only give you these snippets to let you understand a little bit what these two are like. It's been a total joy sharing their lives for a while. You are something else, Holly and Ally. P.s Holly is also the bride who recorded a message for Ally to be played right before she came down the aisle. David and Tegan....17 Years !! At my first catch up with these guys David ate most of my dinner, on the second he watched the football on the screen which was right above my head, quite disconcerting 🤣🤣 However Tegans great chat and David's one liners just made me laugh so much 😀 17 years they have been together, teenagers through to adults, and despite the fact that Tegan’s mum told her not to go out with David, and David’s mum told him he must never go out with someone from Fauldhouse, (Tegans home town), having totally ignored them they have aced it ♦️Their ceremony was also ace, so much laughter and it was 150% all about Tegan and David because they had no rituals or readings it was ALL about their journey (and quite the journey it was!!) We did have a slight hiccup when, for no apparent reason, I changed Tegans dad name from Big Rab to Big Tam. He had a very funny retort to this 🤣 and I believe he is now called Big Tam 😉 An excellent day with excellent people. Ask the question? I thought it would be interesting to actually ask couples a few questions about their day rather than assume I knew what the answers were. It has been very useful in part to confirm that the things I tell my couples to watch for are, in fact, relevant! And also that it may be of use to others still to have their day. As always, there was a considerable amount of laughter when I was reading the responses 🤣 Couples were across weddings from 2020 to 2023 Hit the heart if it's been worth the effort 👌

Pure Joy Is the only way to describe Stuart and Tammi's wedding day. The run into this epic occasion was just laughs all the way. In no small part due to the fact they had no qualms about telling me their good bits as well as their, well, dodgy bits, like Tammi not liking to touch knickers and Stuart being able to remove a fitted sheet off the bed at night while he's sleeping!!🤣 Stuart did, however, suss very early on that one of the top ways to Tammi's heart was with Squishies and a Pink Monster drink 🤔🤔 Tammi's dad cried throughout. In fact, I think he still is, and their entire wedding crew, were 100% front and centre, seeing these two were supported and cared for every step of the way.Tammi had explained to me she wasn't a crier, she lied...... Their ceremony was beautiful and fun. It felt like there was nowhere else these two could have ended up, but there on that day, getting married. It was a privilege to have been chosen to marry you @tammimonaghanx and @stuart.jardine.94. ♡The Steells♡ and where do we start with this wedding, it had more 'amazing stuff' than you can shake a stick at!! 🍁These two beautiful, kind souls, like most couples, just wanted their fave people to have the best day.... and boy, did they achieve just that. 🍁Firstly though, it was wonderful how much Callum and Clare invested in their ceremony because they knew this was the most important part of the day, and it paid off in spades. Because of their wholehearted efforts it was just about perfect and utterly them. 🍁We had surprise ring bearers, a funeral poem, (yes you did read that right) The Dash go and read it and you'll see how it worked so well, First Kiss with our mums, a few guests got rinsed during the ceremony and 🤣 @rileymusic accompanied us beautifully throughout. The vibe was the best! 🍁Afterwards we had a kick ass candy cart, the fab @whathannahdoes drawing all the guests, a shot trolley, ice cream cart, foam glow sticks and so much more. 🍁Clare as you can see was looking fabulous and all you had to do was look at Callums face as she appeared at the end of the aisle with Dad to know how fabulous, Callum was so handsome oh and so hot, it was very very hot! Dreading swaying on the spot round the dance floor, just the two of you, for an interminable 3 whole minutes? Never fear the answer is here ✅️ 🕺Choose your music wisely 🤔 if you've not got a range of awesome shapes to throw on the dance floor. A fast track is best. This is a sure fire way to cover, let's say, any 'shuffling' it's a long 3 minutes if you're swaying and shuffling!! 💃if you're dead set on that romantic tune, that means so much or reminds you of your first date. Set aside about a minute and a half for just the two of you, and then prime your parents and crew to come up and join you for the remaining time. This takes the heat of you and allows you to enjoy your first dance so much more. Adopt this for a fast track too! 🕺Ditch the first dance all together and find a banging tune and get everyone up, straight into the party. 💃Come into your first dance with your crew (chosen people) and have a group first dance. Why not! 🕺 Lastly, there are no rules. Don't get hung up on this. So many couples site their first dance as one of the things they worry about, ditch the stress, and do what suits you best. Mr and Mrs Letchford Ft, the adorable Frankie ❤️ A wonderful day, @dalmenyparkhotel, yesterday to wed Brody and Sharon. This gorgeous couple found each other a little over 4 years ago, the click was instant, everything simply fell into place, their best life started on that very first date. A huge bonus for Sharon was that Brody came as a team with his son Frankie. This young man was so emotional during the ceremony, so happy that Dad and Sharon were getting married. I loved what Sharon had to say about Frankie when I asked her what she was looking forward to most. ''I'm so looking forward to having the same name as him and his dad and also making the lifelong commitment to be there for Frankie whenever he needs me, he makes me so happy and I can’t wait to see him become the wonderful man I know he will be and making so many amazing memories with him.'' I had the honour or marrying these two crazy in love wonderful people yesterday at St Anthony's Chapel Ruin, and this ceremony had it all. 🌟, incredible love story 🌟Knockout list of what annoyed Tom about Molly 🤣 🌟Beautiful personal vows 😭 🌟A ton of laughs and off script chats 🌟 A right good swig from the Quaich This was all made, if possible, even more special because Molly and Tom's witnesses (and photogropher) were their best friends Conor and MJ from @scotlandelopementco 🤫 MJ did have a wee bit of a tearfest 😭 There was an incident with a whippet and his itchy bum, where I haven't laughed as hard for a long time, I'm sure the photos of Tom and Mollys faces at the time will surface eventually😁 Another couple of things that I loved apart from all the above was Molly's bow ❤️ and the fact that Conor is also a Celebrant and it was Tom the groom who had to remind me I hadn't got them to sign the Marriage Schedule 😲 What a fantastic day. This is your wedding day in 2 frames 🎞 I always tell my couples that they should never underestimate the range of emotions they will feel on their big day. Every single one of them are perfectly normal, on minute choked with intense emotion the next laughing like a hyena, throw in the excitement and the nerves, and it can be quite the rollercoaster 🎢 My advice for anyone feeling that they might cry or get overwhelmed is, lean into it, don't fear it, however your emotions come, just roll with it. This is a big thing, I mean, how often do you get all the people you have shared your life with in the one room, every one of them cheering you into your married life, AND, you're about to commit, for life, wholeheartedly, to your most special person, it's no wonder it's a topsy turvy day of emotion. Is it just me or....... Are the folks leaving booking their suppliers till fairly late on in the planning process increasing? Especially for Celebrants, the one person you do need !! The average time for couples booking their suppliers is traditionally one and a half to two years before their wedding day. I have found couples asking for dates within as short a time as 6 months from their day. Now, sure, if you are fast tracking your wedding, then that's the way it has to be. BUT, if you have booked your wedding, get right on it and book your suppliers, there and then, no dilly dallying or they are gone!! The reason so many suppliers post about booking your suppliers the minute you get your date and venue (I feel I am constantly posting about this) is because we know you're date is gone if you leave it too long, we're not making it up to instigate bookings.   I have been inundated lately with bookings for next year (and this) when the venue has been booked quite some time ago, I hate saying no especially when folk have been following you for a long time. Get yer finger out ♥️ Other suppliers, are you the same??

An exceptional day 👏 From the minute I arrived at @lochgreen for Stephen and Hannah's wedding, the vibe was through the roof. The whole place was buzzing, I knew this was going to be a belter of a day 😀 Hannah actually booked @lochgreen one year before it even crossed Stephens' mind to propose (she also brought home two puppies when Stephen had only barely agreed to one, but that's another story 🐶) Hannah and her many bridesmaids were just gorgeous and sooooo excited and Stephen well he was so ready to make this gal his wife. I won't lie it was crowd control getting their friends and family to settle down to a riot for me to even do my announcements at the start of the ceremony. It was amazing. Curtis, Katie, and Maya❤️ I like you all to know a little bit about the wonderful couples I have just married, so it's not just a photo but a tiny insight to them and how they met. It’s 2014, and Curtis and Katie first clapped eyes on each other over the chicken nuggets in McDonalds, where they both worked. Apparently, there were a few flirty encounters at the fry station and Katie told Chloe, Curtis sister who also worked there, that she 'really fancied Curtis', their love affair didn't start proper until 4 years later though. Curtis picked Katie up at the house for their first date, well not at the house, way,way down the street so Katie's Dad didn't see him!! The date was obviously a smash despite Katie thrashing Curtis at the bowling, but that date was, in fact, the start of their forever. Six wonderful years they have had together the highlight being the birth of their beautiful daughter Maya 2 years ago, this child was an absolute joy throughout the whole day. Katie (and Maya) were stunning in their sparkly dresses, and Curtis' head was well and truly turned when he saw them come down the aisle. We had a handfasting and a vow for Maya (that she slept through the reading of, bless her). What a fantastic day for this amazing wee family. I loved getting to know you both. It honestly well and truly, without a doubt, unequivicolly is YOUR DAY. Yes, compromise where it doesn't alter your plans too much. Yes, let people know from the get-go that you appreciate their advice, but that you have a firm plan in your heads you'd like to stick to. Yes, 100% Yes, say no if it doesn't suit you. It's tough and emotional and can cause friction, but re read the first statement on here, do not allow people's opinions to take you so far away from your original plans you don't even feel it's your very own once in a lifetime wedding day ❤️ Hit the like if you've experienced this !! The Hendrie's 🍁 Stephen and Larissa's best bits Crackin' couple Cute as a button son, Oliver Stephen likes a good greet Larissa is gorgeous obvs, but funny and kind too Great story Amazing friends and family - rocked the whole ceremony Sunshine Laughs and more laughs, tears of course A poem, hand tying, and audience participation! These guys met 10 years ago when Stephen used to sneak Larissa into his room and sneak her out when Maw and Paw were sleeping, the first time she met Stephens whole family she got plastered and threw up all over the bathroom and everything in it, Stephens mum spared her blushes by saying 'aw she must have a wee bug' to everyone.  Larissa spends the day boiling the kettle in case she wants a cup of tea, and Stephen works to a different time zone when he goes to watch the football with the lads.... They are just a hoot, I had a fantastic time with them, and their ceremony was brilliant. Thank you so much, Larissa and Stephen, for everything. Our Cameron and Jordon had the day of their lives at @falside_mill on the 1st June, the sun shone on them and their nearest and dearest, and after 18 years together it was never going to be anything but the celebration of the year 🍾 Jordon was drop dead in her two layered wedding dress, and Cameron and his boys in their trews (I love the trews❤️) They had met as daft wee teenagers back in the day, and the most wonderful thing is that they kept diaries from that time, all about how they felt about each other and their love. I had the privilege of reading out some excerpts from their diaries in the day. Auntie Ann read a poem she had picked for them, one I loved and believe it or not had never heard before!How special is that !! We laughed, we cried, and the biggest cheer went up when they were pronounced husband and wife, none louder than their daughters D'Arcy and Eden. Before they were even going in for the confetti run, they were dancing away to the fab @fifeweddingentertainments they had a ball. Thank you for everything, Camo and Jordon. Jamie and Beverley did it 17 years later, but they did it!! They paid for their deposit for @cottiersglasgow from their payout from their turn of the Menage. (Mind them!) How good is that!! But on to their day. It would be fair to say Jamie was a bundle of nerves. He is such a gentleman, though, that whilst he was having a breakdown, he was going out of his way to ensure that all his guests and me were ok ❤️ Bev (we agreed we would call her Beverley for the ceremony, but I kept slipping up and saying Bev because I felt I knew her so well ) Bev was stunning and calm and graceful, and held up all the traffic on Hyndland Road as she got out of the car 😂 Their ceremony was such fun, Jamie got a bit of a rinsing, but there was no denying how much they truly loved each other or how delighted they were to finally get married. They had a swig from the Quaich accompanied by their guests who had a wee tipple, too (think half of them had been drunk before we got to the Quaich right enough 🤔) The suppliers were all given a cracking Graze Box too, because of timings, these guys had decided not to have Canapes after the ceremony, then I put up my reel about being pissed off if I didn't get a canapé, and Bev said there's no way you were outing me for not having canapés, so we got you a Graze Box !!! Worry...who me? I thought since we always hear about the couple getting nervous about things, I would share with you all the things I worry about happening at your ceremony 😊 Some irrational, but most have a real possibility of happening. There has yet to be anything we can't overcome. Your professionalism and experience always kick in, but I can assure you, we Celebrants worry about things too!! We wouldn't be human if we didn't, and it's only because we care so much we do ❤️ Any Celebrants out there want to share their top worry?

Marc ♡ Kara These guys got in on the Tinder action way back in its early days, it was 2015. Now Kara’s first message wasn’t the best, it went, ''Marc -Hey, Kara -Hey Marc - how are you? Kara - pretty bored, but I suppose that’s not really a good conversation starter.'' Erm 🤔 no Kara probably not! Kara must have looked mighty fine because Marc was determined to get this hot gal on a date, and 9 years later, they're rocked up to get married. When I arrived, Kara was just chillin' with her best gals and her mum, sipping champagne and knocking back shots 😃 Marc was intent on telling me he was fine whilst fidgeting like a fiend, and when Kara glided so gracefully down the aisle, fair to say he lost it a wee bit, I then took Kara and Marc and their wonderful family and friends a trip through the journey that had brought them to their perfect day. Nothing gives me more pleasure than nailing a couples story, and theirs was a wonderful story to tell, the moments of hush when I told everyone what they love about each other, the laughter when I told of the little hiccups and how the grand proposal ended up taking place beside the fridge freezer, hopefully everyone left knowing a bit more about them and feeling even more grateful that they have Marc and Kara in their lives than they already did. I'm extremely grateful I met you both. Look 👀 did Craig and Tess not go and get married!! It was a scorcher, and @pollokshieldsburghhall looked amazing. Tess was drop-dead gorgeous in her classic gown and Rita Hayworth hair (for those of you who know who she is) Craig was handsome but pretty clueless about what was going on 🤣 This crowd was up for a party I'll tell you, the banter was full flow before we even started and carried on throughout their ceremony. There were a couple of hiccups, I had brought an empty gin bottle as a prop for a killer funny line I had and had positioned it behind me for ease of access, did Craig not have it removed right before the ceremony because he thought it had been left there by mistake, no funny prop for me then. And then I made a mistake. Yes, I did. Instead of saying they got engaged in 2022, I said 2020. Well, Tess was right in there 2 fingers in my face (indicating 2022 you understand) and saying it was 2022 Niki not 2020, no chance of me getting a mistake under the radar with Tess about, it was so funny 🤣 Their ceremony was joyous, emotional, and unique. That's all we're looking for, every ceremony, a masterpiece, eesh, it takes a fair few hours to create your ceremony, and I'm a fiddler, I finish go back and check and change wee bits, finish and then go back and fiddle again 🙈 But, the main thing that makes your ceremony totally 'you' is the ammunition, sorry, information you give me, good information makes for a great ceremony 😊

💗Gobsmacked 🫨 Emma contacted me to see if we (Emma, Richard, and me) could pull off their surprise wedding, slap bang in the middle of a yearly weekend away they have with their dearest friends. Well, of course, it was a yes from me. 💗A million voice notes face times and WhatsApp messages later, the stage was set, I arrive to the beautiful beach at Ardentinny, set up for a wedding. 💗Their friends had been told they were going to a Gala Day at the beach, in they come somewhat perplexed, a wedding set up no Gala 🤔 Then a singer sets up and starts strumming mmmm strange, I ask them to take a seat, and from stage right enters Richard, Emma and their kids, Richard blasting champagne all over the shop, to a tremendous cheer, this was not on the radar, what an absolute treat 😃❤️ 💗Their ceremony was joyfull, the kids splashing in the sea, 5 of them reading parts of a poem, everyone sitting trying to figure out how they ended up at a wedding!! But overjoyed their pals were finally making it official after 15 years together. 💗The fact that the tide came in and the far right rows were submerged up to their knees (quick move of chairs) detracted nothing from this most special event. 💗I love Emma and Richard, and I love even more they really did do it their way, they went on to having a barbecue, drinks music and so much fun, on probably the best day of the year so far !! 💗 I feel blessed our paths crossed and honoured you chose me for the I Do's ❤️❤️ A pleasure to work with Isla @i.r.hphotography

I hope my point has been made with a level of sensitivity, but all you guys out there who don't do these things will understand where I'm coming from. My intention is not to insult, simply to make what I consider to be a very valid point. These points also affect the couple, and for me, anything that is detrimental to them shouldn't be happening. Please note that this reel was recorded a number of weeks ago in case any suppliers from recent weddings should feel I am referring to them specifically.

Well, now that you ask.. Things will go wrong😏 This was our groom Stephen dropping the rings (for once, not me!) Things going wrong on your wedding day is up there as a couples' biggest worry, and it's very easy to catastrophise possible scenarios when the pressure builds nearer your day. Take a load off, you can't control everything, and 99.9% of the time, it's daft wee things that slip and have no consequence or impact on your day 😊 And what if something bigger happens? You are surrounded by suppliers and staff who will move mountains to fix or make better any mishaps. 🌼 It’s May, a month often dubbed as the 'Month of Love', making it a prime season for weddings? May was named after Maia, the Greek goddess of fertility. Marrying in May is thought to bless the union with fertility and prosperity, that can only be good right? Warmer days (hopefully) lighter nights and an abundance of spring flowers to choose from for your decor and bouquets. I’m so looking forward to my May weddings, and telling the beautiful love stories each and every couple has nurtured over their years together.🌼 I hope everyone has a wonderful month, less rain, more sunshine ☀️

The Montogomery Wedding 🔔 It would be fair to say there was a wee bit back and forth between Stephanie and I to get their date locked in the diary, and I am delighted we did. Stephanie, as you can see, looked like a proper Hollywood star. She just oozed charisma, James eyes popped out his head when he saw her accompanied by a gasp from all their guests. I loved the second the curtains were pulled back @lochsidehousehotel, and there she was, Stephanie standing in all her glory. Her walk down to James was epic. James and Stephanie are great fun, so their ceremony was so upbeat, and their story was great, starting with them being brought together by James Auntie doing her best Cilla Black impression, I say upbeat but when we got to the things they love about each other well, you could have heard a pin drop, apart from the sniffles coming from everyone, it was so heartwarming. Listen 📣📣📣 The post wedding blues ARE a thing, so be prepared. Approximately two years of your lives will have had 'Wedding Planning' pretty much front and centre, right? And now your glorious day has been, all the boxes put away, the to-do lists all ticked off, and you're sitting on the couch looking at this person who you've pledged to spend your life with and you're thinking a) who are you? b) 'oh, ok, what now' ⚠️ This is normal, I repeat. This is normal. You can experience, let down, sadness, even anxiety and depression. We tend not to talk about this, though!! You wouldn't want anyone knowing you feel this way.... The excitement, intensity, and wedding bubble has gone. The dynamic of your relationship might change (for a wee while) What can you do to make it better 🤔 ♥️ Firstly, reflect on it all together ♥️ Set goals of things to do just after your day ♥️ Talk - say out loud how you're feeling, you'll both be feeling it. ♥️ Think about a honeymoon buffer. Plan it for some time after your wedding, something to look forward to. ♥️ Appreciate having money again, and time, and each other. ♥️ Plan a few 'Super Dates' dates that are just a bit more special than the ones you normally have. This will pass, it is normal, get things in place to take the sting out of it, I promise you it will be worth it 👍 Have you had post wedding blues, hit the vote button?

♡ The Marvellous Marshalls ♡ Mark and Amy made a major adjustment to their original plans and decided on an intimate ceremony for 22 people at @#thebothyglasgow, and then, party the night away with ALL their nearest and dearest @cottiersglasgow, I love when couples are brave enough to shift things around to ensure THEY have the best possible experience ❤️ Mark fell in love with Amy because she can balance a bottle of water on her head, and Amy fell in love with Mark because he joins in with her having her 'mad wee half hour' of laughing and talking rubbish just before they go to sleep ❤️ It was a beautiful day, the sun shining, and Amy was radiant as Dad brought her into her marriage, Mark so handsome in his Tux and the biggest smile on his face, like constantly 😊 The people they had around them were just amazing, although Amy's dad did have a few contributions to shout out along the way (v funny) everything was relaxed, fun and we even had a few happy tears in the room. We had Words of Advice about marriage from their friends and family, and we rounded off with Laura filling their Quaich with Red Stripe.
