About me

Hi, I’m Niki and I am a fully qualified Independent Celebrant, and Chair of  The Fulcrum Foundation, and my job is to help make your event Am-az-ing!!

I live in Glasgow with my Partner and not too bright Jack Russell Terrier, we love Scotland, long walks, socialising and getting involved in anything creative.

In my past life I have been a dancer, a dancing teacher, a play leader working with kids (although that title needs a bit of work!) an events manager, a manager of libraries, community centres, sports centres and community arts and sports teams, and so much more, but always always I have worked with people, because you guys are my passion.


I have always had a genuine interest in people and love nothing more than hearing all about your lives and experiences, it is fascinating, and no two stories are the same I can tell you. 

I love when people say 'I don't have much to tell you' and then we start talking and wow, I am constantly knocked sideways by how amazing you are and how amazing your talents and opinions and experiences are, coupled with the compassion and empathy and love you all hold inside of you.

Becoming a Celebrant was the most natural thing in the world because it allows me to continue to meet amazing people like you and share your amazing life events, whether it's a Wedding, Elopement Ceremony, Handfasting or Renewal of Vows, I love them all, it really is – the perfect job!


I love being able to help people to achieve their dream ceremony, and to present your ceremony exactly as you want it to be, it gives me a real kick that I have helped to do that, and if anything goes wrong at least you know I can divert attention with a tap dance…

I live in Glasgow with my Partner and not too bright Jack Russell Terrier, we love Scotland, long walks, socialising and getting involved in anything creative.

In a whistle-stop tour of my life, I started life as a dancer both performing and teaching adults, children, girls and boys, men and women. Much of this time was planning and delivering shows and events and always public speaking which I love, and word has it something I am quite good at.

I then went on to work in the Culture and Sport industry, starting on a six-week contract and staying for 32 years! in that time, I had a multitude of varied and exciting roles, the common link in them all was working with people, people from every walk of life, the great and the good (sometimes the not so good!) as well as ongoing involvement in major events and always, always performing (well till I got a bit old and creaky!)

I care, I really care that your ceremony is perfect. I will move mountains to make sure that it is exactly as you want it to be. The last thing anyone wants is a boring ceremony it should 'rock', this is the best day of your life surrounded by everyone who means anything to you, they should be right there in it with you, laughing, crying and definitely not wondering when they can get at the champagne!!


From the minute we meet till the day of your Ceremony we go on a journey together, full of laughter and fun, I love nothing more than a good belly laugh, but it is also often thought provoking and emotional, either way I am at your side every step of the way.


I make it my mission to write and present ceremonies that are full of meaning (not just words) and that are fun and memorable to everyone attending.


And, I just love a good buffet !!
